Isn’t it time that menus got as healthy as you are?
Leading the way is Hyatt International with their new “Healthful Kids Menu Items”. The Chicago-based hotel chain’s new initiative, dubbed “Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served,” includes ambitious mandates that take step-by-step shifts toward the use of all-natural meats, cage-free eggs and sustainable seafood throughout roughly 400 foodservice outlets in more than 300 full-service properties worldwide.
It’s a long over due step for the Food and Beverage industry. Consumers are choosing to be informed and make healthy life style choices which includes not only what they eat but where it came from. With the GMO labeling movement it makes one wonder how soon the Food and Beverage industry will be asking for certification of Non GMO. As a parent it makes obvious sense to avoid all foods that could create a negative impact on a child’s growth and development. Virus and DNA altered foods with over zealous pesticide use seem to be a natural to avoid.
Kudos to Hyatt for taking this first step to ensuring the coming generations are healthier and nourished.
